A Warning to Pastors! The Message Is LOVE (Salvation)

I know that each one’s calling is different, but the ultimate goal is SALVATION—-that’s the whole message of the love story we call The Bible.  Pastors, we have got to address, formally and/or informally, the ills that plague the Body of Christ:

  • anger
  • adultery/infidelity
  • idolatry
  • sexual immorality (this includes giving one self to homosexuality)
  • integrity
  • mental illness/demonic possession of the mind and body
  • family/generational curses (destructive patterns of behavior across the bloodline)
  • drug usage
  • pornography
  • incest
  • rape
  • fornication
  • unforgiveness
  • sexual abuse
  • physical, emotional, and spiritual abuse
  • poverty (spiritual, financial)

These are some of the major challenges that attempt to hinder the giving and receiving of LOVE.  As we know from the Bible in I John 4:8, “Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.”  Our role, as called/chosen/sent servants of the Most High God, is to reflect, teach, offer LOVE in our homes, within our communities, in our places of work, at the church, in the pulpit, in meetings, in restaurants, and everywhere we are sent—-both in private and in public.

The challenge to us, pastors, is to fight in the spirit ensuring that we allow LOVE to destroy our demons, our ills.  I am finding that many pastors are not leading the sheep to LOVE because they themselves have issues with LOVE.  In other words, LOVE has not yet become real to them.  How, then, can you lead others to LOVE if you don’t know LOVE or are rejecting LOVE due to your own ills?  The answer is simple.  You cannot; you will not.

Please understand that LOVE will give YOU space to be transparent with the gang banger about why and how you actually identify with him/her.  LOVE will give you the heart to put away judgement long enough so that you may actually see the pain within that prostitute’s heart so that you can be used by LOVE to address that hurt, that pain according to His will and not your own.  In fact, Pastor, LOVE will open your eyes to see how much damage you have caused the sheep by attempting to “fix” their ills on your own without His involvement.

We keep directing the sheep to “programs” that oftentimes steer participants away from LOVE.  We keep attempting to procure funding so that the church can house these programs, waiting on the approval of documents and searching for staff that will support the effort while the ills of the sheep go unaddressed.  Pastors, LOVE and His salvation are free.  Give LOVE to the sheep, and the demons flee. The ills become inconsequential.

LOVE is the only healing salve for the wounds.  LOVE is the only true answer for the deep question(s).  LOVE is the only attainable understanding for the doubtful, confused mind. LOVE is the only peace for the chaos that seems to run amok.  LOVE is the pleasantry that allows for a good day in the midst of a blood-soaked battlefield.  LOVE is the only real comfort for one’s heart after the child dies from the sniper’s bullet.  LOVE is that sense of wealth and accomplishment in one’s heart, mind, and soul even though bills are mounting and gainful employment seems to evade the individual at every turn.  LOVE turns a spouse’s harsh, bitter, profane words into a melodic symphony to the ears of the receiver, allowing him or her to offer a genuine hug and kiss as opposed to participating in the ensuing battle.

Pastors, the sheep NEED LOVE, but they must first see it in us in order to believe it!

John 13:35 (NIV)

“By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

Pastors, allow LOVE to reign within your hearts so that, under His instruction, we will know how to fish for these men properly and boldly.  And, I beg you to pay attention to the nature of LOVE in that LOVE is limitless and beyond the law.  Did you get THAT message, Pastors?  LOVE is BEYOND the law.  So, stop fearing LOVE and what comes with it; let LOVE abide:

Galatians 5:22-24

22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. 24Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

Let LOVE reign in you, pastors, so that the SALVATION LOVE provides can be experienced by the masses.  Preach, teach, live, and fight for LOVE in all that you do.  The effort will have a far-reaching impact—-even beyond laws—-that will bring God’s people to Him, in Jesus’ name.

Pastors, this is YOUR (our) assignment!

A Prayer for Us

Father, Lord God Jehovah, help us to cast all cares upon you as directed in YOUR Word. Help us to allow you to fill our hearts and spirits completely with your Holy Spirit.  Father, we need your help to walk in the path of LOVE, which is righteousness, that you have set before us.  Melt our hardened hearts, soften our sharpened tongues, regulate our feeble minds, and open our blinded eyes and deafened ears to be instruments for your use.  Lord, bless us to re-present you accurately and boldly publicly AND privately.  Forgive us of our sins, Father and Lord, because we have committed numerous errors against You and your kingdom, but Lord, you are our ultimate desire.  Refresh us and make us anew.  Let your Light be seen in us from miles around so that all will know that we belong to you.  And Lord, please transform all who are exposed to your Light in us according to your will.  Lord, help us to LOVE as we are also loved by You.  In Jesus’ name I ask and believe and receive. Amen!
