The Secret to Winning Battles: BE STILL!

(God Fights on Your Behalf)

How many times has God told you “Be still” only for you to go out and do something or say something that makes your situation a little more tense and/or seemingly unbearable?  Then, after a period of prayer and deliberation, you finally heed the Lord’s words.  At that point, the situation becomes a non-issue, and you end up with wonderful surprises and peace that you had no idea God planned for you.  Remember?

In case you need some assurance today that you REALLY heard the Lord say “Be still” while you’re in the midst of this fight you’re in, here’s PROOF from His Word that He indeed told you (and me) to “Be still.”

Exodus 14:14 (NIV) – “The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.”

2 Chronicles 20:17 (NIV) – “You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the LORD will give you, Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the LORD will be with you.”

No matter what your battle is or even with whom you may be battling, obedience to God’s command to “Be still” is the winning formula.  Yes, I know this makes absolutely no sense, but it does make FAITH.  Therefore, I make appeal to your questioning/doubting mind to:

Trust in the Lord with all your heart
    and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him,
    and he will make your paths straight.[a]

Do not be wise in your own eyes;
    fear the Lord and shun evil

(Proverbs 3:5-7)

BE STILL!!!
